PS5 RPG Anima: Song From the Abyss gets 2027 release date window
In a recent announcement from developer Anima Project, it was confirmed that the action RPG Anima: Song from the Abyss will release sometime in 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It’s interesting to note that, while the game was originally announced for PS4 as well, the game won’t be releasing on that platform anymore.
Song from the Abyss is set in the acclaimed universe of Anima: Beyond Fantasy. In the game, players control two different protagonists, who explore the world and uncover the hidden mysteries within the Abyss.
The Anima franchise is a tabletop role-playing franchise originally developed by Anima Game Studio. The franchise has spawned off several other projects, including a card game and two video games, 2011’s Anima: Ark of Sinners and 2016’s Anima: Gate of Memories.
“An imperial zeppelin descends into chaos when, without explanation, most of its crew suddenly vanish. With an unknown force stalking the airship, Soren, the last surviving knight guarding the dirigible, fights to protect its dangerous cargo: a powerful relic from a forgotten civilization. But in a desperate attempt to save the vessel, he unknowingly unleashes a catastrophe by freeing a legendary entity imprisoned within the artifact itself,” reads the game’s official description.
