In news we didn’t expect, PS5 and PS4 players are getting re-releases of acclaimed 90s classics today. Originally launched on Sega platforms in the 90s, Earnest Evans Collection has been upgraded for modern consoles and is available on the PS Store now.
Earnest Evans Collection brings three acclaimed classic games to PS5 and PS4 today
The collection includes Earnest Evans (both CD and cartridge editions with different stories), El Viento, and Annet Returns. The PS5 version costs $30.95 on the PS Store and the PS4 version costs $29.95. The title isn’t cross-buy, and we’re not sure why publisher Limited Run Games decided on a dollar difference between the two versions.
“This collection features incredible animated cutscenes in Earnest Evans and Annet Returns from the masterminds at MADHOUSE (Trigun, Cardcaptor Sakura, and more),” Limited Run Games wrote in a press release. “Rewind any time; with the simple press of a button, you can undo any mistakes you make in gameplay. Save anywhere; you can save your progress at any moment from the in-game menu.”
The trilogy was originally developed by Wolf Team, which later became Namco Tales Studio — the team behind the popular Tales Of RPG series. In 2012, the team was fully merged with Bandai Namco Entertainment.
