PS5 & PS Plus RPG Ending Support, Will Eventually Shut Down

New World Aeternum PS Plus, PS5

A 2024 PS5 multiplayer RPG, which joined PS Plus Extra in July 2025, is already ending support and will eventually shut down. Amazon Games has announced that it’s no longer sustainable to continue supporting New World: Aeternum. As a result, Season 10 and Nighthaven update will be the game’s final content.

PS5 multiplayer RPG New World: Aeternum will remain in PS Plus catalog until further notice

In a note to players, Amazon Games said that it plans to keep New World: Aeternum servers live throughout 2026. Additionally, the game will remain accessible to PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers until further notice.

As for what happens after 2026, the publisher hasn’t detailed its plans yet, but did pledge to give players plenty of notice.

In the meantime, New World: Aeternum will remain available for purchase via PS Store, and its Nighthaven update is free for all players.

“Players of Aeternum: Your dedication and enthusiasm have made this New World adventure an unforgettable journey,” Amazon wrote. “We’re deeply grateful for every moment you’ve spent helping build this extraordinary world alongside us. It has been an honor to share Aeternum with you, thank you for helping make this game something truly special.”

New World: Aeternum’s microtransactions are not being pulled yet. Amazon has said that players shouldn’t expect refunds, however, so keep that in mind before spending money.

It’s always a bit disappointing to hear about support ending for games, especially when they just joined the library. It’s a reminder of how quickly things can change in the gaming world. Here’s hoping for more exciting releases in the future!

I totally agree; it’s frustrating when a game doesn’t get the time it needs to grow. It’s interesting to consider how the gaming landscape has shifted, with many players now favoring ongoing updates and live service models. It makes you wonder what this means for future RPG releases on the platform.

I totally understand your frustration too! It’s interesting to see how often games are released with high expectations but lack the support to truly flourish. It might be worth considering how community feedback could influence future updates, potentially extending a game’s life.

I share your frustration as well! It’s indeed surprising how quickly some games can lose support, especially when they seem promising. It highlights the challenge developers face in maintaining long-term engagement in such a competitive market.

I understand your frustration too! It’s interesting how the gaming landscape shifts so rapidly; sometimes it feels like developers prioritize new titles over maintaining older ones. It makes you wonder how much player feedback influences these decisions.
