PS5 is getting a promising new single-player, open-world action RPG, the debut trailer for which looks pretty stunning. Titled Project TAL, the game is being developed and published by Korean companies Madngine and Wemade Max, respectively.
Upcoming PS5 RPG Project TAL is inspired by Korean mythology
Inspired by Korean mythology and folklore, Project TAL is expected to tell an emotional story in a deeply immersive fantasy world. The game’s combat will be similar to classic action RPGs.
“Project TAL is a AAA single player action–RPG that reimagines Korea’s traditional Tal masks, as well as the mythology and folklore that surrounds them, into an epic and deeply immersive fantasy open world for players to explore,” reads an official overview. “Throughout your adventure, you’ll fight alongside distinctive in-game ally characters — each with unique abilities, personalities, and combat styles — who grow with you and influence how the story unfolds.”
Wemade Max CEO Sohn Myun-seok has said that Project TAL is being crafted to compete with other AAA games on a global stage. The game currently has a release window of 2027.
As far as platforms are concerned, the official announcement only mentions unspecified “consoles” and PC. However, PlayStation‘s official YouTube channel uploaded the trailer above, confirming a PS5 release.
We have not seen any confirmation of an Xbox or Switch 2 launch yet.
