A large number of PS5 players (myself included) are seeing data inaccuracies following a bizarre glitch and partial service outage earlier this week. As we previously reported, players suddenly started seeing games in their library and âRecently Playedâ section that they hadnât purchased. Sony took down parts of the service to fix the problem, but it seems to have broken something else in the process.
Whatâs going on with PS5 player game data and âRecently Playedâ section?
Following a day-long partial outage of the PlayStation âGaming and socialâ services, Sony restored PS5 libraries and the Recently Played section. However, the company seems to have set PSNâs clock back to a month ago for many users.
My Recently Played section shows that I last played Mixtape, which I finished more than a month ago. The last two games I played have been completely wiped out of the section.
Although the issue doesnât affect everyone, the PlayStation subreddit is full of similar complaints. While my last two games were disc-based, PS5 owners who were playing digital games are also experiencing the same issue.
Some players have also reported that their games have gone missing from their libraries.
It certainly looks like Sonyâs patch fixed one issue but created another.
Weâll keep an eye on the situation and update our readers when we have more information.
