PS5 action game Ground Zero

A new post-apocalyptic action game is launching on the PS5 soon, and it looks good from what we’ve seen of it so far. Set in South Korea, retro-inspired Ground Zero has players investigating Busan after a devastating meteor strike.

Promising PS5 action game Ground Zero launches in April 2026

Developed by Malformation Games and published by Kwalee, Ground Zero will launch on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on April 16. A price has yet to be revealed, but the game can be wishlisted on the PS Store.

“A devastating meteor impact has wiped out South Korea. Two months later, as the dust and lightning storms settle and the air becomes breathable, an elite Korean operative and her Canadian partner are sent to investigate,” a synopsis reads. “What waits for them in the foggy remains is more terrifying than they ever could have imagined…”

Ground Zero promises a beautiful presentation, with various locations to explore, including shoreline towns, temples, and urban centers. In terms of combat, the game will combine shooting and martial arts.

“Ground Zero captures the nostalgia of retro horror titles with fixed cameras and pre-rendered backgrounds, puzzles, custom difficulty, and optional tank controls,” Kwalee wrote. The game will also feature unlockables and extra content, like alternate outfits, additional game modes, and hidden endings.

Ground Zero’s PS Store page doesn’t make any mention of PS5 Pro enhancements.
