PS5 Gets Long-Forgotten Konami Game That Was Delisted on PS3

A Konami superhero classic game, which made a brief appearance on the PS3 before being delisted, is getting a PS5 release. Marvel fans rejoice as Limited Run Games has teamed up with both Konami and Marvel Games to bring six beloved superhero classics to modern platforms in Marvel Maximum Collection.

PS3’s X-Men: The Arcade Game included in collection of Marvel classics headed to PS5

The game in question is X-Men: The Arcade Game, which first released in 1992. Back in 2010, it was digitally ported to PS3 and Xbox 360, only to be pulled from sale three years later, at the end of 2013. Now, it’s included in Marvel Maximum Collection. The pack includes:

  • X-Men: The Arcade Game
  • Captain America and The Avengers
  • Spider-Man/Venom: Maximum Carnage
  • Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety
  • Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade’s Revenge
  • Silver Surfer

Up until now, all these games were stuck on obsolete platforms like SNES and SEGA Genesis, but that’s set to change as the collection will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Modern features include a music player with iconic OSTs, various display options, an in-game museum and archive, rewind and save features, rollback netcode, and cheats.

A release date for Marvel Maximum Collection has yet to be announced.
