As 2025 comes to a close, PS5 has another hit console exclusive under its belt, as a brand-new RPG is off to a strong start. Chinese free-to-play open-world game Where Winds Meet amassed two million players across PS5 and PC in just 24 hours.

This news was shared by Where Winds Meet’s official X account. Developer Everstone Studios and publisher NetEase also boasted the following stats:
- Where Winds Meet is currently one of the top three games on the PS Store in at least seven regions.
- It’s currently one of the top seven games on Steam and the top five most-played games on the platform
- Where Winds Meet reached a 24-hour concurrent peak of 170,000+ players (Sony doesn’t share this data)
These impressive numbers can be attributed to Where Winds Meet being a free game, but the free-to-play space is also chock-full of popular games. Additionally, the Chinese wuxia action RPG was sandwiched in between major releases, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (included in Game Pass), so these numbers are no small feat.
