PS4 Era Comes to a Sorry End
Earlier this week, we reported that Sony has confirmed that, after selling over 115 million units and housing some of beloved exclusives, the lifespan of the PlayStation 4 is finally coming to an end.
Sony is sunsetting the console as rumours of PS6 release date delays and exclusive titles begin to swirl.
Sony is switching off several PS4-era web services that sit behind social features, storage management, and shared media. Your console still works, your games still run, but some features will stop syncing externally. As I understand it, things like viewing activity, profiles, screenshots, or stats are being turned off.
Original Chloe Voice Actor Not Returning For Life is Strange Reunion
This one hit the Life is Strange fans in the chat hard. Namely, me and Kate.
Ashley Burch, prolific voice actor in the games industry, first came onto my radar as Chloe Price in the 2015 Life Is Strange game. Sheās also been in little indie games like Fortnite, The Last of Us Part II and Minecraft. Not sure if youāve ever heard of those.
Speaking to Eurogamer, she confirmed that she āwasn’t asked to reprise her role as Chloeā and is ālearning about Reunion at the same time as the fansā.
Since 2015, Chloe has been voiced by Rhianna DeVries – once in 2017’s prequel Life is Strange: Before the Storm, and now again in Reunion. I guess Chloe just had a sore throat for that week in 2015? Regardless, Iām excited to hear DeVries take on the character again, and Iām replaying Before the Storm to relive my indie sleaze rocker era.
Industry Leaker Claims Expedition 33 and More RPGs Coming to Nintendo Switch 2
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is reportedly coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, according to industry insider and long-time leaker NateTheHate.
Straight off the back of winning Leaker of the Year 2025 over on r/GamingLeaksandRumours, NatetheHate is back, predicting that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Metaphor: Refantazio and Final Fantasy XVI could be coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Good year to love RPGs, I’ve got to give a shout out here to The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales – a new RPG from Square Enix also pencilled in for Nintendo Switch 2 release this year.
Tomodachi Life Direct Might Mean No General Nintendo Direct, Hereās Why
Listen, weāre all excited that Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is officially on the way. Earlier today Nintendo confirmed a dedicated Direct focused on the game. However, NateTheHate suggested that a general Nintendo Direct could happen as early as February 5.
Personally, Iām not convinced. I know, I just said he was a reputable leaker. But with a Tomodachi Life Direct already locked in, a full general Direct in February feels unlikely. If I had to guess, Iād expect one closer to May, once PokĆ©mon Day has passed and Nintendo has cleared its slate of early-2026 releases.
February already has Mario Tennis Fever and Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Switch 2 Edition. March brings PokĆ©mon Pokopia (which Iām very ready for), and while April hasnāt been formally confirmed, itās likely weāll get Tomodachi Lifeās release date around here during this weekās Direct. On top of that, Nintendo still has Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, plus titles like Fire Emblem: Fortuneās Weave, Rhythm Heaven Groove, and PokĆ©mon Champions lined up for later this year. Thatās not even mentioning a likely PokĆ©mon Gen 10 reveal at the 30th anniversary Presents! Surely, with such a stacked line up, Nintendo wonāt have anything else to show for a while? Unlessā¦ Itās that 3D Mario, 9 years after Super Mario Odyssey released?
