Yes, the subject of this article may seem surprising, or even completely pointless to discuss. However, a rumor that is disconcerting to say the least has been circulating online in the last few hours.
According to an insider, Xbox would not be selling its next-generation console directly to consumers. Instead, the American company was reportedly planning to rely on consoles designed by original equipment manufacturers (or OEMs) such as Asus and MSI. While this option isn’t entirely ruled out, Microsoft will still have its own Project Helix done by its own teams.
This was confirmed by Jason Ronald, vice president of the Xbox Gaming Devices & Ecosystem division. He simply stated that “Project Helix will be available as a 1st party Xbox console.” Thus, Microsoft will remain a full-fledged manufacturer.
