The free-to-play open-world skateboarding video game Skate is getting brand-new content for players to sink their teeth into. Alongside its Season 1 offerings, Skate-o-Ween will be its first seasonal event, featuring new places to skate, as well as new cosmetic gear for players to earn.
What is Skate-o-Ween and when does it begin?
As expected by its festive name, Skate-o-Ween is Skate’s Halloween-themed seasonal event that runs from October 21 to November 11. The festival will bring the spooky vibes to San Vansterdam, with new unlockable awards, like “creepy-cool costumes, spooky slip-ons, haunted hoodies, and more.” There will also be updated community parks that feature new obstacles to skate.
Skate-o-Ween will also feature new Event tasks where players can earn Chocolate coins (the event currency) to purchase the Halloween-themed gear, and Build Kit items. Event tasks will be added every week for three weeks. Every task will be available throughout the duration of the event. There will also be Event Challenges for another opportunity to partake in the festivities. Here is a list of a few of the Skate-o-Ween Challenges:
- Skate the Web (Line)
- Dreadful Drop (Stunt)
- Ghostly Grind (Own the Spot)
- Sinister Sprinfest (Session)
When Skate-o-Ween begins, players will be able to unlock a First Login reward cosmetic for free in the store. Similar to the Season 1 currency, there will also be free Chocolate coins available on the store daily.
Skate is currently in its first Season. Titled Hesh & Fresh, it brings tons of new cosmetics to the skateboarding game via a season pass. It also brought some new obstacles to skate throughout San Vansterdam.
For PS4 and PS5 players who subscribe to Sony’s video game online service PlayStation Plus, they can still get exclusive DLC for the game right now. The pack includes a deck, trucks, wheels, and five stickers.
