Pokemon TCG Just Hit a Huge Milestone

The Pokemon Companyhas announced that it has produced 85 billion Pokemon TCG cards as of March 2026. The first sets of the Pokemon TCGwere released in Japan in 1996, but saw a huge surge in popularity in October 2024, when a digital mobile version of the game was released in TCG Pocket. The free-to-play smartphone app drew people’s attention to the trading card version of the creature collecting series in a way that led to an explosion in popularity.
