Longtime Pokemon fans will tell you that nothing beats the “gotta catch ’em all” energy that each game provides. Pokemon Legends: Z-A will have dozens of the critters to catch and raise, pulled from multiple generations from across the entire franchise. So far, the game’s menagerie looks impressive, as we’re seeing classic Pokemon like Pikachu and Dragonite sharing space with fan-favorite creatures like Umbreon, Metagross, and Espurr.
The game also sees the return of Mega Evolutions, powerful–but temporary–boosts to strength that have the potential to turn the tide of battle when used properly. We’ve compiled a list below of all the pocket monsters you can expect to run into during your trip to Lumiose City–as well as their various evolutionary forms–all arranged by their National Pokedex number to keep things simple.
Pokemon Legends launches on October 16 for Switch 2 and Switch consoles, and there’s still time to take advantage of a few preorder bonuses for this new release. Nintendo has also revealed more details on the post-launch content for the game, starting with the Mega Dimension expansion that will arrive on February 28, 2026. This paid DLC will focus on Mega Evolutions and Raichu, as the final evolutionary form of Pichu and Pikachu features prominently in the story expansion.

Great overview of the confirmed Pokémon in Legends: Z! It’s exciting to see how the franchise continues to evolve while keeping that classic catching spirit alive. Looking forward to what else this game has in store!
Thanks! It’s definitely thrilling to see new entries and how they blend classic designs with fresh concepts. I also love how Legends: Z seems to be focusing on expanding the lore of certain Pokémon, which adds an extra layer of depth to the game.
Absolutely! It’s fascinating how the new designs pay homage to the originals while introducing unique traits. I really think this approach keeps the nostalgia alive for longtime fans while attracting new players too.
I completely agree! The blend of nostalgia with fresh designs really adds depth to the game. It’s also interesting to see how some of the new Pokémon incorporate regional traits, which adds a nice layer of cultural richness to the gameplay.
