Pocketpair responds to comparisons between Palworld: Palfarm and Pokémon Pokopia

It didn’t take long for the newly announced Palworld: Palfarm to be compared to Pokémon. This time, Pocketpair’s title is being compared to the Pokémon Pokopia spin-off, a kind of life sim game that was announced on September 12.

Given the animosity between Palworld and Pokémon, it didn’t take much to spark controversy. On X, Bucky, Pocketpair’s director of communications and publishing, made a brief appearance to address the issue.

He said he expected a certain amount of “silliness and grumpy people” surrounding the announcement of Palworld: Palfarm. He also added that it’s impossible to develop a game in a week, referring to Pokopia, which was announced during the latest Nintendo Direct.
