Sony has decided to reward its most dedicated players… but only if they’re willing to pay the price! This week, the Japanese manufacturer is introducing a program called “Franchise Rewards,” which allows users to earn physical rewards after obtaining one or more in-game trophies.
To illustrate this new initiative, PlayStation has revealed Ghost Rewards. By unlocking the platinum trophy Living Legend in Ghost of Tsushima by December 31, 2025, players will be able to order a commemorative pin for €28. Also, by earning the gold trophy Mono no aware, it will be possible to purchase a special T-shirt worth €33.
These items are available for purchase now. You must log in to a PSN account to purchase them before January 30, 2026. Later in 2025, the Ghost of Yotei Rewards program will launch with a similar format.
This is an interesting development from PlayStation! It’s great to see companies recognizing and rewarding dedicated players, even if it comes with a cost. It’ll be interesting to see how the community responds to this new system.
Absolutely, it’s a unique way to engage players and foster loyalty. It’ll be interesting to see how this system evolves and if it encourages more player interaction across different games. Plus, it might set a trend for other companies to follow suit!
