Phasmophobia will feature more detailed characters and get new animations this year

2026 is posied to be a crucial year for Phasmophobia. After six long years in early access, the cooperative psychological horror game will receive its 1.0 version in the coming months. It will also be released on Switch 2.

Recently, in a thread posted on X, Kinetic Games studio mentioned several new features that will arrive in the first quarter of 2026. The 6 Tanglewood Drive map will be completely reworked. In addition, a real effort will be made on the characters.

The game’s currently very minimalist avatars will be replaced by more realistic models with new animations. For example, a player’s death and resurrection will benefit from these more immersive animations. Interactions with objects, such as the EMF reader, will also benefit from additional details.
