Every week on the Epic Games Store, PC users can nab at least one free game – often a couple.
The line-up changes on a weekly basis and there’s quite simply no catch beyond the fact that you have to have a PC in order to enjoy your bounty.
Once claimed, the free titles are yours to keep and this week, the Epic Games Store has two free offerings available.
This Cosy Automation Game Is A Perfect Gateway To The Genre
Let’s begin with the more modest of the two, Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure.
Originally released just one year ago, Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure is, unsurprisingly, a cosy automation game from developer Massive Miniteam and publisher HandyGames.
Players will explore a strange fantasy world as they set up automation workshops, all while discovering “mysteries of the past”.
You’re accompanied on your journey by Sparks, small woody creatures who will assist in making your automation empire thrive.
The game usually retails for $15 and I must say, it’s a great gateway into the automation genre if you’re sitting there thinking, “It’s not for me.”
The gameplay loop is accessible and the cartoonish visuals will lure in even the most dubious of players with their cosy charm.
One reviewer on Steam referred to the game as Pikmin meets Factorio, and they’re not wrong.
The second title boasts a reported value of over $100 but it’s perhaps a slightly less conventional offering.
Idle RPG Fans Can Secure Some Valuable In-Game Bonuses For This Hit
Firestone is a free-to-play idle clicker RPG from Holyday Studios that originally arrived in 2024.
Players will fend off a variety of enemies in this “no stress” title with infinite progression as even when you’re offline, your heroes will keep on fighting.
You can freely download Firestone at no cost but if you secure it from the Epic Games Store this week, you’ll nab $100 worth of in-game goodies by all accounts.
Even if you already own Firestone, launching the game on the Epic Games Store will nab the same bonus.
The $100 bundle includes ‘The Grove Guardian’ skin for Luana, two avatars for your character profile, 10 common chests each containing at least one piece of hero’s gear, five uncommon chests containing at least one uncommon gear, 10 wooden chests with at least one piece of hero’s jewels, plus five iron chests with at least one uncommon jewel.
That’s not all, as you’ll also get 360 “strange dust” to train your guardians or conduct experiments, 50 scrolls to enhance your stats, 35 game tokens to “test your luck at the tavern”, five Temple’s tokens to perform epic empowerments, and 200 gems.
It does note in the fine print that new players will need to reach Stage 15 to unlock all of this loot, which is a bit sneaky.
Both offerings here are free until 7 May at 4pm BST / 8am PT.
You can also currently nab Hogwarts Legacy for free from the Epic Games Store but that game is only free until 3 May.
It’s been offered by Warner Bros. in celebration of 25 years of Harry Potter but games of this calibre can sometimes be included in Epic’s own free game line-up.
