
This is something we weren’t necessarily expecting. The studio behind PAYDAY 2 is determined to meet the community’s expectations. In fact, some of these expectations have been around for many years now.
The game will receive a major update to its engine, now called Diesel 3.0. Here is what’s on the agenda: performance improvements, a massive reduction in the game’s size (from 86 GB to 32 GB), and the introduction of 64-bit architecture. Additionally, the engine has been upgraded from DirectX 9 to DirectX 11. Don’t expect visual enhancements, but rather a reduction in the load on your graphics card. An open beta to test these changes will be available on Steam on June 30.
