Paramount is set to acquire Warner Bros. for $110 billion, including $24 billion from Saudi Arabia

The details of the agreement between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery are gradually coming to light. Netflix was beaten to the punch at the last minute by deciding not to match its competitor’s $110 billion offer.

Of this staggering amount, $24 billion is being injected directly by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF), Abu Dhabi’s Imad Holding, and the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA). Although Paramount has stated that investors will not receive governance rights, the question of foreign influence in the United States remains.

Paramount will hold several of the biggest entertainment licenses, as well as channels such as CNN and HBO. It should also be noted that video game publisher Warner Bros. Games is an integral part of this agreement. Franchises such as Hogwarts Legacy, LEGO Batman, Mortal Kombat, and Rocksteady’s potential future DC Comics title will be produced under this new structure.
