In Brief

Strategic Refocus: Open Loot shifts its strategy to emphasize fewer, deeper partnerships and increased internal game development.

Compensation Credits: Open Loot offers $2,914,692 in discount credits for previous non-Big Time game purchases, applicable to future purchases in Big Time.

Project Transitions: Several partner projects like Boss Fighters and Shatterpoint will exit the Open Loot platform, with detailed transition plans and asset withdrawal options for players.

Strategic Shift in Focus

Open Loot, a prominent crypto gaming ecosystem, has announced a significant strategic redirection. The company plans to concentrate on fewer, more strategic partnerships while bolstering its internal game development efforts. This pivot follows a mixed track record, where some ventures thrived like the Web3 title Big Time, which reported $467 million in rewards, 4.3 million gameplay hours over the last year, and 7.8 million crafted items. Conversely, other associated projects encountered difficulties launching or sustaining momentum.

Rewarding Loyalty

In acknowledgment of their community’s loyalty and to mitigate past project discontinuities, Open Loot is introducing a discount credit initiative. Players who made primary purchases in any Open Loot games except Big Time, between August 24, 2023, and September 22, 2025, are eligible for a share of $2,914,692 in discount credits. These credits will allow for reductions of up to 25 percent on future primary purchases using Open Loot’s token ($OL) in Big Time, thereby enhancing the value of earlier investments.

Transitioning Partner Projects

As Open Loot narrows its focus, it has confirmed the departure of several partner games, including Boss Fighters, Shatterpoint, The Desolation, and Kokodi. These studios are set to outline their own transition plans, ensuring that players can withdraw their assets. Where possible, migration pathways will also be provided, facilitating a smooth transition for the affected gaming communities.

Future Developments and Enhancements

Looking forward, Open Loot is not only concentrating on refining its operational approach but also expanding its portfolio with promising new titles. Among the anticipated projects are a mobile pet-collecting adventure set in the Big Time universe, and a high-stakes strategy game available on both mobile and browser platforms. Additionally, the company has indicated that existing Big Time NFTs will be integrated with enhanced utility in future titles, reinforcing the value of earlier investments.

Embracing a Sustainable Future

In this strategic overhaul, Open Loot aims to craft a sustainable and focused future, recognizing the highs and lows of their journey. The renewed commitment to their foundational strategy and to their supportive gaming community marks a pivotal step towards nurturing a resilient Web3 gaming ecosystem.
