Nintendo Switch 2 Gets a Free Download for a Highly Anticipated 2026 Game

Nintendo Switch 2 finally gets a long-awaited download for one of the most highly anticipated horror games of 2026.

Gameplay trailers can be great, but they can all be a little deceiving at times. After all, the purpose of any trailer, especially when it comes to the entertainment industry, is to get us hyped and manipulate us into spending our hard-earned money. Look at me being Mr Cynical!

On the other hand, you could simply show me a trailer of a close-up buttock of any Resident Evil character, with no gameplay or audio, and it will probably be enough to convince me. I’m really that easy when it comes to Capcom’s iconic survival horror series.

Speaking of horror games, there’s one particular game that I cannot wait for (and it just so happens to be released in the same month as Resident Evil Requiem), and that’s Reanimal.

Reanimal was announced at Gamescom in 2024, and it’s from the creators of the Little Nightmares series, Tarsier Studios.

Reanimal features the returning 2.D perspective camera angle, side-scrolling action, puzzle solving, horrific creatures and tons of tension.

If anything, from what I’ve seen from the gameplay trailers, as well as the demo that was recently released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, Reanimal looks like it could be more nightmarish than the original Little Nightmares that was released in 2017, and that’s saying something!

On the topic of Little Nightmares, if you’ve never played this fantastic horror game or fancy escaping the Maw once more, then you might be pleased to know that the Enhanced Edition was added to Xbox Game Pass earlier this month.

Little Nightmares Fans Need to Check out Reanimal!

“In this unsettling tale, the emphasis is on tension and thick atmosphere, as you join the two orphans on a desperate search for hope and redemption in the direst of circumstances,” reads the synopsis of Reanimal.

“Traverse an intriguing but terrifying world, where the main path is only one part of the fragmented story. Discover all sorts of mysterious locations on your perilous journey, each with its own story to tell.”

Announced on the social media accounts by the publisher of Reanimal, THQ Nordic, it was brought to followers’ attention that the free playable demo is available to download right now for Nintendo Switch 2 gamers.

Reanimal will be released in its full form next month, befittingly on Friday, 13 February 2026.
