Nintendo has reportedly been hacked by the Crimson Collective

There are some rather worrying news about Nintendo this Saturday. The Japanese manufacturer has apparently been the victim of a cyberattack by the Crimson Collective.

With screenshots to back up their claims, Crimson Collective asserts that it has production resources, backups, and development previews belonging to the Japanese brand. For the time being, the group has not revealed what it intends to do with this information.

It should be noted that Crimson Collective is known for stealing 570 GB of data belonging to Red Hat, including customer authentication credentials. A ransom demand was made, but ultimately ignored by the company. It remains to be seen whether the modus operandi will be similar with Nintendo.

Crimson Collective also hacked telecommunications operator Claro Colombia last September. On that occasion, 50 million invoices and financial records were stolen.
