New PS5 Update Out Now, Doesn’t Do Much

A new PlayStation 5 system software update is out now, but don’t expect a whole lot in terms of new features. This update, like many before it, is focused on system stability.

The new update, which brings the PS5 up to version 25.08-12.40.00, makes improvements to messages and usability on some screens, and also improves performance and stability generally.

Companies like Sony historically don’t like to change things up too drastically with system updates around the holidays, and this new update is in keeping with that tradition.
