New PS5 DualSense Controller Has a Much-Needed Feature – Report

PlayStation 30th anniversary PS5 DualSense controller

The PS5’s DualSense controller is arguably one of the best PlayStation controllers of all time. Even the best controllers have their faults, however, and improvements sometimes can be implemented in the middle of a console’s life cycle. This seems to be the case with the DualSense, as a new iteration of the PS5 controller is reportedly in the works and will be released in the near future.

Revised new PS5 DualSense controller expected to hit store shelves soon

According to sources of the Polish website PPE, a new PS5 controller will come with a newly revised PS5 Pro. Privately known as the “DualSense V3,” it will reportedly feature a removable battery instead of its typical integrated rechargeable battery. The sources also claim it will launch this November and replace the current PS5 controller models. It will also be bundled with the new PS5 Pro consoles.

Just last week, we reported on the leaked PS5 Pro model. Not a lot is known about the revised console, but it was reported that it was set to release in Europe on September 30 and cost €799.99. PPE’s sources claim it will use 3% less power than the current model available. It is still not known when or if these new models will come to the U.S. market.

As of this writing, it has not been formally confirmed by Sony whether a new PS5 Pro and DualSense controller will be released this year. However, PPE’s source Graczdari has a solid track record with their leaks, including ones that pertained to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and the PS5 port for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

These new PS5 Pro and DualSense controller models are rolling out just after a revised PS5 Slim Digital model was released in Europe earlier this year. This particular revision was met with criticism from fans as it includes a smaller SSD at the same €499 price tag.
