New Baldur’s Gate 3 Subclass Combines With 2021 RPG, Community On Top Once Again

With the tactical RPG genre going strong thanks to the success of Baldur’s Gate 3 back in 2023, one user has come up with a way to combine two of the best in one exciting free package.

“This mod brings over the Swift Blade subclass for Rangers from Solasta: Crown of the Magister into Baldur’s Gate 3,” the user over on Nexus Mods claims.

Solasta: Crown of the Magister, a tactical turn-based RPG, was first released back in 2021 and is based on the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons.

Developed by Tactical Adventures, Solasta: Crown of the Magister will see players control four adventures as they search the ruins of an Elven empire after an apocalyptic event almost ended the world hundreds of years before.

With the rules of Dungeons & Dragons implemented, players can control and befriend party members who range from a variety of races and classes.

One of which includes the Swift Blade subclass.

Known for being fast, silent and deadly, the Swift Blades are a subclass of the Ranger class and like every other subclass, can be upgraded the more your player levels up.

Now, for the first time, Solasta: Crown of the Magister’s Swift Blade subclass is available to play in Baldur’s Gate 3 thanks to Rockhounding over on Nexus Mods.

“I recently started playing Solasta and have really enjoyed some of their homebrew subclasses, Swift Blade being one of them,” the creator shared.

“I have no doubt that it won’t be as powerful in BG3 due to how insane Feats and equipment are in this game but this is for others like me who really liked the flavour more than anything.”

In an effort to keep the subclass as authentic as possible, the modder has remained as close to Solasta’s own class as much as possible whilst giving it the Baldur’s Gate 3 spin.

One For the Melee Fans.

At level three, players will gain access to the subclass alongside Quick Step and Blade Dance.

Quick Step will see your movement speed increased by 3m as well as giving enemies disadvantage on their Opportunity Attacks against you when you Dash.

On the other hand, Blade Dance will see you gain +2 to your Armour Class when dual wielding melee weapons.

At level seven, you unlock Battle Focus.

“As a free action, you can enter a heightened state of battle focus.

All of your melee weapon attacks deal an additional 2d8 damage until the start of your next turn.

This can be used a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus and all uses of this power are replenished on a Long Rest,” the mod explains.

Last but not least, level 11 will unlock Improved Extra Attack, which as you can probably guess, will allow your character to attack more than once, three to be exact, whilst attacking with their main hand weapon.

Swift Blade – Solasta Subclass is now free to download for all those who own Baldur’s Gate 3 on PC so do not miss out if you want to see two epic RPGs combined.
