Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 3 Arrives Sept 29

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Wilds will receive its third free title update on September 29, featuring a special collaboration with MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV Online.

Monster Hunter Rise X Final Fantasy XIV

It’s yet another treat for both Monster Hunter and Final Fantasy fans as this update includes hunters to able to hunt Final Fantasy XIV’s iteration of the Omega Weapon, which is called in this update the “Omega Planetes”.

Once the patch goes live, players can take on the Omega quest after reaching Hunter Rank 41 and completing the main mission “What Lies Ahead.” To begin, hunters must speak with Rove in the Iceshard Cliffs.

Here’s a description of Omega from Capcom:

“Omega Planetes prepares its devastating attack, Delta Attack, by summoning Nerscylla Clones. Additionally, the Omega Micros generated by Omega Planetes relentlessly approach their target and detonate on impact, dealing explosive damage. Omega Planetes unleashes a barrage of powerful attacks, and when it enters Pantokrator Mode, it becomes nearly unstoppable.”

“Omega Planetes comes loaded with a variety of unique mechanics. Team up with other hunters, coordinate roles and strategies to conquer this formidable foe! Teamwork and tactics are key!”

New Armors and Cosmetics

Defeating Omega Planetes will reward materials for crafting a new hunter armor set, Palico gear, and hidden adornments.

The new hunter armor, Bale Armor α, channels Final Fantasy XIV’s Dark Knight job, complete with a massive greatsword. The set includes the Soul of the Dark Knight bonus.

Players can also channel the Pictomancer class, unlocking the Soul of the Pictomancer ability to cast spells like Pom Motif and Mog of Ages.

With enough Omega materials, hunters can unlock additional cosmetics for their Palico and Seikret mount. Palicoes can be transformed into a miniature Marlboro, while Seikrets can be swapped into a Chocobo.

Capcom also confirmed the addition of new endemic life, including the iconic Final Fantasy Cactuars, across Wilds’ biomes.

Arch-Tempered Nu Udra is coming in Title Update 3

For veteran hunters seeking a tougher challenge, Arch-Tempered Nu Udra will also arrive in Title Update 3 on September 29.

Title Update 4 Teased

At the end of the trailer above, Capcom teased what’s coming next. Title Update 4 will add the returning elder dragon Gogmazios, first seen in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. More details will be shared in the months ahead, with the update planned for December 2025.
