Modders run FSR 4 on RDNA 2 GPUs

Thanks to modified DLLs from the SDK leak, some have managed to run FSR 4 on Radeon RX 6000 cards. The result: better image quality than FSR 3, but a 10-20% drop in performance according to tests.

The problem stems from the absence of WMMA units on RDNA2, forcing less efficient calculations. On RDNA3, the loss is around 7 to 10%, and on RDNA4 only 2 to 4%.

For now, it’s still a workaround. AMD has not confirmed whether RDNA2 or RDNA3 will ever receive official support, perhaps via FSR Redstone.
