Moca Network’s “Build Verification” Hackathon

Moca Network’s “Build Verification” Hackathon

In Brief:

Moca Network announces its upcoming hackathon, Proof of Build, focusing on decentralized identity, slated for the end of September 2025.

The hackathon finale features a live Demo Day in Singapore at Token2049, where finalists will present their innovations.

Moca Network is a division of Animoca Brands and pioneers in web3 identity via Moca Chain and AIR Kit.

Moca Network, a unit within Animoca Brands committed to revolutionizing digital identity, has announced the Proof of Build hackathon. Scheduled for the final days of September 2025, this 10-day event invites developers, designers, and visionaries worldwide to explore decentralized identity technologies. The hackathon will culminate in a live demonstration day at Token2049 in Singapore, a prominent global web3 conference.

The event starts with virtual onboarding, followed by an intensive period of hacking, augmented by mentoring and progress reviews. Participants will utilize Moca Network’s innovative tools to create actionable solutions and present their final products on Demo Day, aiming to bridge theory with practical, deployable technology in web3 identity.

At the core of the hackathon is the challenge to employ the Open Identity Stack on the Moca Chain, the latest advancement from Moca Network designed to foster practical applications of digital identity away from conventional centralized Single Sign-On (SSO) systems, which are prone to privacy breaches and loss of data control.

Moca Chain, introduced by the Moca Foundation, is a specialized Layer 1 blockchain tailored for managing digital identities and user data with autonomy. It’s EVM-compatible and features a modular architecture, focusing on privacy and data verification through technologies like zero-knowledge proofs and decentralized storage.

Further supporting this, the AIR Kit SDK allows developers and applications to integrate verified data and digital identity seamlessly into their platforms. Kenneth Shek, the project lead at Moca Network, emphasized, “the combination of Moca Chain and AIR Kit is unique,” highlighting its novel approach to data sharing that enhances privacy and user control.

With its broad adoption already visible in platforms like SK Planet’s OK Cashbag and One Football, Moca Network supports over 570 companies, potentially impacting over 700 million users, indicating a significant shift and growth in the application of its identity technologies.
