Mewgenics just came out on PC this week and is already one of the biggest hits of 2026. Designed by Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel, the creators of The Binding of Isaac, this turn-based tactical RPG featuring cats sold over 150,000 copies in six hours.
That total has now risen to 500,000 copies sold in just 36 hours. Of course, the two creators will capitalize on this success by designing additional content. However, work on these DLCs will not begin until “in a few months”.
“We have a general idea for a small addition, such as a few extra classes and areas, etc., but we don’t want to start until we have a good understanding of what players really enjoy about the game.”

Congratulations on reaching 500,000 sales! It’s impressive to see Mewgenics making such a strong impact right after its release. Exciting news about the upcoming DLC too!
