Metroid Prime 4: Beyond’s talkative NPCs aren’t as surprising as you think

Last week, the monkey’s paw curled for Metroid fans. After years of waiting, we finally got extensive gameplay impressions for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and a host of new details ahead of its Dec. 4 release. Previews painted a picture of a traditional Metroidvania cut from the same cloth as the original GameCube classic. But there was a big surprise: It introduces a new character in Myles MacKenzie, a quippy nerd from the Galactic Federation who Samus must assist during her mission. All hell broke loose from there.
