Meta Quest 3S
128GB – $296.79 (was $350) | 256GB – $382.49 (was $450)
It’s not exactly the new hotness anymore, but VR has improved in leaps and bounds over the years. Case in point: the Meta Quest 3S. It’s probably the best entry-level headset for anyone getting into VR. So if you’re VR-curious or looking for a backup headset, the Meta Quest 3S being on sale for Prime Day makes for a good excuse to pick one up. Despite a big price increase earlier this year, Quest 3S has gotten a substantial discount for Prime day, it’s just $297 (down from $350) that just about undoes the price hike. If you need more storage, you can also pick up the 256GB version for just $382 (was $450).
Note that Amazon’s Prime Day sale only runs through June 26, and there’s always a chance these deals could disappear before then.

So what makes the Quest 3S such a good headset? Easy. It hits the sweet spot balancing price, wearability, and high-end features. The Quest 3S is equipped with 8GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 chipset, and 1832 x 1920 Fresnel lenses, and it comes bundled with two wireless Touch Plus controllers.
Unlike its bigger sibling, the Meta Quest 3, the Quest 3S can function as a standalone (un-tethered) VR headset. You can plug it into a PC to boost its processing power, or you can use Steam Link to stream PC VR games from your Steam library directly into the headset. On its own, This it’s a surprisingly capable little device. It’s more than capable of playing games like Batman: Arkham Shadow, Asgard’s Wrath, and Marvel’s Deadpool all on its own.
While the Quest 3S does have a slightly better battery life than the Quest 3, it’s worth investing in the Elite Strap add-on for an extra $100 (it was $130). This includes an additional battery positioned at the rear, and the strap itself feels way more secure than the one that ships with the Quest 3S. The Elite Strap also evenly distributes weight for a more comfortable fit, which makes it a must-have for movement-heavy games like Beat Saber.
This Quest 3S deal is just one of the Prime Day deals we’re seeing on all kinds of tech and gaming gear from Amazon and other retailers. For instance, if you have a PS5, you can grab a new DualSense controller for as little as $55, and the official PS5 gaming earbuds are 50% off, to name just a couple.
