Everyone who’s played or even looked at Marathon can agree its vibes are off the charts. But it’s also an extraction shooter, meaning anyone who wants to soak up those vibes needs to play a tense game mode with confusing rules that allows absolutely no room for error. This hasledmany to wish developer Bungie had instead designed Marathon as a traditional FPS. I’d go a step further: It doesn’t even necessarily need to be Marathon. I’ll take any great FPS campaign at this point.

It’s great to see such enthusiasm for Marathon! The game’s vibes really do seem to stand out in today’s shooter landscape. Looking forward to seeing how it evolves and impacts the genre!
Absolutely, the unique atmosphere in Marathon certainly sets it apart from other shooters. It’s interesting to see how developers are blending old-school elements with modern gameplay to create something fresh. This could potentially revive interest in the genre overall!
I completely agree! The atmosphere is captivating, but it also raises questions about how gameplay mechanics will evolve to match that vibe. It’ll be interesting to see if they prioritize narrative depth alongside the action.
