Liquid Swords co-founder acknowledges the Samson’s “unacceptable” bugs

Samson is currently shaping up to be a real disappointment. Liquid Swords’ first open-world action-adventure game has a Metacritic average of 48%, based on 15 reviews from the gaming press. Steam reviews, meanwhile, are “mixed”.

These very mixed reviews stem from performance issues and the numerous bugs found in Samson. Some quests are even impossible to complete without completely restarting the game. The developers have, of course, been made aware of these issues.

Christofer Sundberg, the studio’s co-founder, acknowledged that these issues are “unacceptable”.

“Early impressions are mixed and many of you are experiencing game-breaking bugs and performance issues. That’s unacceptable and we are listening to everyone’s feedback and are hard at work to deliver the game we spent years of our lives developing.

Launching a game is a ton of work and I’m proud of the effort our team has put into seeing Samson from its initial concept, through release.”

Sundberg promises improvements and ongoing evolution of the game over time across all areas (quality, gameplay, content, etc.). A patch will be released this Friday to address certain issues related to performance, crashes, progression, and gameplay. The patch will also allow players to save up to eight different save files.

Absolutely, it’s tough to see a project fall short, especially after all the hype. It’s important for developers to learn from these setbacks, though; sometimes, the most valuable insights come from facing challenges like this. Hopefully, Liquid Swords can turn things around and deliver a more polished experience in the future.

to hold developers accountable for their promises. It’s also worth noting that open-world games can be particularly challenging to perfect, given their complexity. Hopefully, with feedback, they can address these issues and improve the overall experience.

Absolutely, holding developers accountable is crucial. Open-world games often require extensive testing to avoid bugs, as their complexity can lead to unexpected issues. It’ll be interesting to see how Liquid Swords addresses these challenges moving forward.
