Netflix has released the long-awaited trailer for The Witcher Season 4, marking a new chapter not only for the show’s sprawling fantasy story but also for its cast.

It has been a long wait since the last season of The Witcher, but Netflix has finally unveiled the trailer for Season 4 of the acclaimed series. With Liam Hemsworth joining as Geralt of Rivia, taking over the role from Henry Cavill, the series is set to return Oct. 30 at a pivotal moment that has fans and newcomers alike curious about what’s next for the Continent.

The new trailer sets the tone for the upcoming season and its refreshed cast, as Geralt faces shifting alliances, new enemies and a quest to reunite with those closest to him. Hemsworth’s Geralt is seen assembling a diverse band of adventurers to track down Ciri, portrayed once again by Freya Allan. The returning cast includes Anya Chalotra as Yennefer and Joey Batey as Jaskier, while Laurence Fishburne joins the world as Regis, a mysterious new ally. The presence of Mahesh Jadu’s Vilgefortz adds menace as the season’s antagonists grow increasingly dangerous.

As the fourth instalment of The Witcher begins, the fallout from last season’s continent-shifting events has left Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri scattered across war-torn lands, each forced to face new challenges alongside unfamiliar allies. The series continues its tradition of weaving complex storylines, following Geralt’s attempt to rescue his daughter amid mounting threats, Yennefer’s efforts to rally mages against a persistent danger, and Ciri’s reinvention as she joins the shadowy group known as the Rats.

Along with the recasting of Geralt, Season 4 brings additional changes. Peter Mullan joins as Vesemir, replacing Kim Bodnia due to scheduling conflicts. With Mullan’s extensive genre experience, he is expected to bring fresh energy to the mentor’s role and serve as a strong addition to the cast. Production for this season ran alongside filming for what will be the fifth and final chapter of the series, promising a seamless narrative bridge between both seasons. From the look of the trailer, Netflix has once again captured that signature Witcher look fans have enjoyed up to this point.

Fans can expect eight episodes to drop at once, continuing Netflix’s binge-friendly tradition. Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said in a blog post about the season that it is all about pushing the characters to their limits, with high stakes and shifting loyalties.

“We’re thrilled to bring Andrzej Sapkowski’s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn’t be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to their absolute limit. Stay tuned to see how the story ends,” she said.

With a new lead, formidable additions and a trailer packed with monster-fighting action, The Witcher Season 4 looks set to deliver intrigue and intensity when it arrives Oct. 30.
