JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution Launches First Frenetic Trailer, Foreshadowing The Culling Game

GKIDS has started the hype train for JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution and launched a trailer giving fans a glimpse of what the bridge between seasons 2 and 3 is all about.

JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution is an upcoming anime film that slots straight into the anime’s storyline and adapts the Shibuya Incident Arc from the series, aiming to prepare fans for the upcoming season 3 launch.

With that being said, it’s worth mentioning that anime films have been gaining popularity and slamming box office charts with the release of films like Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle recently. Other popular series are apparently more than willing to follow suit with films that bridge the gap between two seasons of the base anime series narrative, like Demon Slayer, and that’s exactly what JUJUTSU KAISEN is doing with Execution. GKIDS has just launched the first trailer for the upcoming JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution, and it can be seen below.

JUJUTSU KAISEN saw recent success by returning to the anime’s already released seasons with a season 2 focus in the film JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie, and the team is trying to capture lightning in a bottle twice by returning to season 2 in JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution. The caveat regarding this new movie is that it also contains the entire first two episodes of the highly anticipated season 3, giving fans an easier onboarding ramp back into the series after the cliffhanger at the end of season 2. It will have been nearly two full years since season 2 concluded when Execution lands in theatres.

JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution Launches First Frenetic Trailer, Foreshadowing The Culling Game

GKIDS details the synopsis of JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution, saying after the aftermath of The Shibuya Incident, “Ten colonies across Japan are transformed into dens of curses in a plan orchestrated by Noritoshi Kamo, the most wicked sorcerer in history. As the deadly Culling Game starts, Special Grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu is assigned to carry out Yuji’s execution for his perceived crimes,” which is where Execution will bring fans into season 3.

JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution comes to North American theatres nationwide beginning December 5th, and the film will show fans what occurs during season 3, which is set to land in January 2026, soon after the film drops.
