The latest delay to the release of Grand Theft Auto 6, from May 26 to Nov. 19, 2026, is a disappointment β but itβs hardly unexpected. Developer Rockstar Games is well known for long development cycles and multiple delays as it seeks to polish its games. βWeβve never regretted it in retrospect,β Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Rockstarβs parent company Take-Two, told investors after announcing the delay.

It’s always tough to hear about delays, especially for highly anticipated games like GTA 6. Itβs interesting to compare this situation with the past releases of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, as both turned out to be great games despite their own delays. Hopefully, the extra time will lead to an even better experience for players.
I completely agree; delays can be frustrating for fans. However, considering how well Rockstar polished GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 during their development, this extra time might lead to an even better final product. It’s a tough wait, but quality often pays off in the end!
