Intel could launch a new Core Ultra X range with Panther Lake

According to several leaks, Intel is preparing a new classification for its processors with the arrival of Panther Lake. In addition to the traditional Core Ultra, the brand would introduce models labeled Ultra X5, X7, and X9.

The first SKU mentioned, the Core Ultra 7 358H, would combine 4 P-cores, 8 E-cores, and 4 LP-E cores, with 12 Xe3 cores on the GPU side. For now, there is no indication of what the X stands for: is it a graphics variation, a different NPU, or simply a matter of marketing segmentation?

We should know more on the matter come October 9, the day when the Tech Tour 2025 embargo is lifted.
