Guerrilla Games is working closely with NCSOFT on Horizon Steel Frontiers, an MMORPG set in the Horizon universe. During an interview at the Game Developers Conference 2026, the head of NC America (NCSOFT’s North American division) stated that development is progressing very well and that the game is shaping up to be “truly impressive.”
“Development is going very well. The team is working closely with Guerrilla Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment, and the game is looking genuinely amazing: a beautiful, stunning world where humanity, nature, and technology all collide. The developers have built something that I think will be a great MMO experience.”
The project, officially announced in 2025 following rumors and a false cancellation, is designed as an ambitious multiplayer experience centered on cooperation and combat against machines. Players will take on the role of their own hunters in a vast area called the Deadlands, featuring exploration, extensive customization, and social systems typical of MMOs.
The game is currently planned for PC and mobile with cross-play, though a PS5 version remains a possibility, though unconfirmed.

This sounds like an exciting collaboration! The concept of Horizon Steel Frontiers as an MMORPG definitely has a lot of potential. Looking forward to seeing how Guerrilla Games and NCSOFT bring this stunning world to life!
Absolutely, it really is an intriguing partnership! The MMORPG format could provide a vast world for players to explore, especially with the rich lore from the Horizon universe. I’m curious to see how they’ll incorporate elements from the single-player games into a multiplayer setting.
