Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is a turn-based strategy game released last April. More specifically, it is a prequel to the series that debuted in 1995.
Publisher Hooded Horse and developer Unfrozen have hit their mark, as the title has sold over a million copies in just under a month. This resounding success has paved the way for a very extensive roadmap.
Starting in the third quarter of 2026, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era will receive a team-based game mode, advanced features for the random map generator, a rebalancing of hero skills, and an update to the emoticon wheel.
In the fourth quarter, the matchmaking system and epic classes will be overhauled. A spectator mode and replays will also be added. Finally, alternative creature upgrades will be redesigned.
Up until version 1.0, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era will introduce other new features such as the Thievesโ Guild, an underground level, improvements to the map editor, statistics, and a revamp of hero specializations. You can also expect new victory conditions in PvP, an Ironman mode in the campaign, and the maximum spell level increasing from 4 to 5.
Finally, once the game exits Early Access, it will continue to receive updates, including Acts 2 and 3 of the campaign, a PvE roguelike mode, support for map sharing, more achievements, and Steam extras.

Congratulations to Hooded Horse on reaching such an impressive milestone with Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era! It’s exciting to see the game’s success and the plans for its future. Looking forward to whatโs next in the roadmap!
