Helldivers 2 Adds Surprise Magma Worlds Today as Players Battle Mining Automatons

When it’s not reducing the overall size of Helldivers 2 (through a beta, of course), Arrowhead Game Studios is dropping some brand new planets and missions out of nowhere. This time, Super Earth must contend with the Automatons mining the magma worlds, specifically Fury, K and Mox.

Inhospitable for humans and “too explosive for tourism,” these planets are seemingly rich in minerals, which the bots are exploiting with drills. Your job is to go down there and tell them what for, destroying the facilities and slaying those who get in your way. And yes, the red-hot rocks will burn if you touch them.

This update still falls under Into the Unjust, which launched last September and added new Terminid Hive Worlds and missions. It followed the co-op shooter’s debut on Xbox Series X/S – check out our review here.

Regarding the future, Arrowhead is more focused on technical and performance improvements than simply adding tons of new content. Nevertheless, with The Game Awards around the corner, it could have a surprise or two.
