Halo: Campaign Evolved, the remake of the first game, is set to release in 2026

It’s a poorly kept secret that has now been made official. Microsoft has confirmed Halo: Campaign Evolved for the Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5 for 2026.

This modernized version includes the campaign from the first game, completely remade with high-definition graphics. The cutscenes have been improved, as well as the controls and guidance. The soundtrack has also been remastered with the addition of extra voice recordings by the main actors.

Three new missions featuring Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson will be included as a prequel. They take place before the events of the first Halo. Nine additional weapons from the franchise are included. The energy sword, battle rifle, and needle rifle will be at our disposal. The ability to sprint has also been added, as well as the ability to hijack enemy vehicles (Wraith).

A remix feature allows you to restart any mission and modify the experience using β€œskulls.” This will add to the challenge by offering a greater variety of weapons and opponents. Finally, a two-player split-screen or four-player online co-op mode completes the picture, with crossplay and shared progression between consoles and PC.

Halo Studios has shared 13 minutes of gameplay for Halo: Campaign Evolved.
