Itโs official: Halo, or at least its campaign, is getting a remake with Halo: Campaign Evolved. Developed by Halo Studios with Unreal Engine 5, it offers revamped visuals, online co-op for up to four players, and brand-new missions set before the originalโs events. In the meantime, some extensive new gameplay is available for the fourth mission, โThe Silent Cartographer.โ Check it out below.
Everything is about as you would remember it: The Pelican crashing on the beach, Master Chief fighting off numerous Covenant, the Warthog drop, and the infiltration of the map facility. Players can now sprint through the environments, improving the overall pacing, but the shooting and aiming โ right down to the Plasma Pistol/M6D Pistol combo โ is here.
Halo: Campaign Evolved doesnโt have a release date, but it launches in 2026 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It includes cross-play and cross-progression alongside split-screen co-op on consoles. Stay tuned for more details on its changes and improvements.

I completely agree! The Silent Cartographer is such an iconic level, and it’s fascinating to see how modern graphics and mechanics can enhance the experience. I’m especially curious about how they’ll update the AI and enemy encounters to keep things fresh for both new players and veterans.
I totally get what you mean! The Silent Cartographer really set the stage for so many memorable moments in the game. Itโll be interesting to see how they enhance the visuals while maintaining that classic gameplay feel.
