GTA VI could take up just under 200 GB on our SSDs

In just over six months, Grand Theft Auto VI will be arriving on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Unfortunately, PC users will have to wait, as Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games have once again chosen to prioritize consoles.

While there are plenty of rumors circulating about the price of this sixth installment, its size is also a topic of debate. GTA VI will be a massive title teeming with details. That’s why we’ll likely need to make some room on our SSDs.

According to user WILL_STORM12 on X, GTA VI is said to be « just under 200 GB » on Sony and Microsoft consoles. This estimate isn’t surprising, since GTA V already takes up 95 GB on current-generation consoles. Red Dead Redemption 2, meanwhile, can take up to 120 GB. The PC version even reaches 150 GB.

In any case, this rumor should be taken with a grain of salt. Since development on GTA VI isn’t finished yet, its size could change right up until the last minute. Only Rockstar Games will release the official figure.

I agree, it’s really thrilling! The advancements in graphics and open-world design are impressive, and it seems like GTA VI will push those boundaries even further. With such a large file size, I wonder how the game will manage to deliver such a vast environment without compromising performance.
