For now, Take-Two Interactive has chosen to remain silent regarding pre-order figures for GTA VI. However, we can obviously expect a massive surge in demand and unprecedented success in the video game industry.
According to Newzoo, a market research firm specializing in video game market data and analysis, approximately $180 million has been spent on GTA VI pre-orders. This estimate covers the United States and the five largest European markets. Newzoo extrapolates this figure, estimating global revenue at $260 million during the first week of pre-orders.
Thus, based on this trend, the firm forecasts revenue ranging from $3.25 billion to $5.2 billion during the gameβs first week on the market, representing approximately 51 million copies sold worldwide.
As a reminder, upon its release in 2013, GTA V generated $1 billion in three days.
