GTA 6 Second Delay Prompts 2028 PC Port Fears

GTA 6 Second Delay Prompts 2028 PC Port Fears

The rumours were true and Grand Theft Auto VI will unfortunately be receiving another delay, pushing it back to November 2026 as opposed to the previous May 2026 launch.

With an extra six months to wait until we finally get our hands on the most anticipated video game release of all time, tensions are high. However, for PC gamers, the wait will be even longer.

Thursday (6 November) saw Take-Two Interactive share its most recent earnings call and as Rockstar Games’ parent company, it was not long before the Grand Theft Auto creators followed it up with a heartbreaking update.

“Hi everyone, Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026,” the statement read.

“We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realise has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve. We want to thank you again for your patience and support.

While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City.”

So there you have it, Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on 19 November 2026. Well, for some of us.

Patience is a virtue and all that

It is true that GTA VI will launch on 19 November but that will only be for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

For PC owners, the wait will be a lot longer considering that GTA PC ports usually launch at least a year after its console release.

With Grand Theft Auto Online being one of the most successful multiplayer games of all time and boasting a very large PC player base, it is no doubt that it will arrive but when it will arrive is the next big question.

Grand Theft Auto V remained a console exclusive for 19 months before heading to PC whereas Red Dead Redemption 2 took just under a year.

However, technology has advanced quite substantially since then so could the wait be even shorter?

Well, with no confirmation from Take-Two or Rockstar, it remains to be seen but it is the unfortunate truth that PC gamers will have to wait that little bit longer to experience the glory of Grand Theft Auto VI.

Hopefully it will be worth the wait but we would not be surprised if we could still be waiting come 2028…
