GTA 6 PC Delay Has Gamers Sharing Costly Workaround

GTA VI still hasn’t been announced on PC, and fans are willing to go the route of this very costly workaround in order to play on launch day.

To say that excitement for Rockstar Games’ next entry in its ever-popular Grand Theft Auto series is through the roof would be an understatement. Even before GTA VI was officially announced, talk of its reveal was making the social media rounds for months on end.

When GTA V was first released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, it went on to become one of the best-selling video games of all time, largely helped by the fact that itโ€™s been ported to every console generation so far. I have no doubts that GTA VI will surpass the success of its predecessor.

However, while console gamers are eager to get their mitts on GTA VI and have a release date to look forward to, that is not the case for PC gamers. I suppose at least for them, this is something theyโ€™re used to when it comes to Rockstar Games titles.

Pretty much every entry in the Grand Theft Auto series has been released later on PC, such as GTA V, which was almost a wait of two years. In the most extreme situation, PC gamers had to wait 13 years for the arrival of Red Dead Redemption.

Hopefully, PC gamers won’t have to wait any longer than a year for the port of GTA VI, and while thatโ€™s not as excessive as Red Dead Redemption, waiting a whole year can be too much to bear. As such, PC gamers are willing to go the route of this costly workaround.

GTA VI Fans Are Willing to Spend Big

โ€œIf you’re on PC, are you planning to watch playthroughs when GTA VI comes out or stay away from spoilers?โ€ asked Redditor NeedBetterBread.

The OP suggested that they will do all they can to avoid spoilers. However, fellow members on the thread had other ideas.

โ€œProbably will be a full year+ before it comes out on PC. Got a PS5 just for GTA VI, so I can play day one,โ€ replied Mike15321.

โ€œI’m probably going to end up buying a PS5 before the game releases,โ€ added BringMeBurntBread.

โ€œI will buy it on PS5, and then PC,โ€ declared DeliciousD.

That’s one way to solve the problem, albeit a rather expensive one. Still, can you blame people? This isn’t a game you want to be one year late to.

Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Weโ€™ll let you know when the PC date drops.
