Grand Theft Auto IV remains one of the most underrated Grand Theft Auto games ever made, and it runs perfectly on PC with this free remaster.
Sure Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is soaked in nostalgia and Grand Theft Auto V has kept us satiated for years, but there’s just something about GTA IV that’s inherently charming.
Graphically it’s not got a whole lot going for it but the physics were next-level, its characters were lovable and Liberty City remains one of the best open-world sandboxes to ever grace gaming.
It’s dying for an official remaster, though ex-Rockstar devs crushed that dream a while ago claiming it’ll never happen.
That’s unfortunate but while we wait for Rockstar to have a change of heart this remaster is free, on PC and available right now.
Another Look Around Liberty City
Those who want to experience GTA IV at its very best need to do so through Fusion Fix, which you’ll find on NexusMods for free.
The mod’s description reads: “Fusion Fix is a comprehensive modification for Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition that aims to fix a wide range of technical issues, bugs, and limitations in the game that were left unaddressed in official updates.

For players that want to experience an improved but faithful version of GTA IV, this is the way to do it.
We say faithful because there’s actually another GTA IV remaster that’s proven to be quite popular this year.
The RTX Remix of GTA IV goes all-in on visuals to be the best-looking version of Liberty City we’ve ever seen. It needed it too because without being too critical, the city that never sleeps could really do with some beauty rest.

Both remasters are great but will be enjoyed by two different camps of gamers. If you care about visuals first and foremost go with the RTX Remix (if your PC can handle it), if not go for Fusion Fix for a more authentic experience.
