Sucker Punch has released a new trailer for Ghost of Yōtei, its upcoming follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima, and it’s all-action. It doesn’t highlight a specific weapon like previous trailers have, but rather provides a quick look at Atsu’s backstory and her reason for returning to Ezo. Check it out below.
After the Yōtei Six murdered her family and left Atsu for dead, she embarks on a campaign of vengeance to hunt down every single member. This requires gathering clues about their whereabouts and preparing her own techniques and arsenal. Alongside the katana, she can utilize new weapons such as the dual swords, odachi, kusarigama, yari, and even firearms.
Ghost of Yōtei launches on October 2nd for PS5. For a more extensive look at the gorgeous scenery of Ezo, head here. Regarding Atsu’s connection to Jin Sakai, the previous game’s protagonist, co-director Nate Fox has clarified that they aren’t related. You can learn more here.
