However, there was one feature that was omitted from the game at launch that is typically a fan-favorite for most games: New Game Plus. Luckily, in an upcoming update, the new mode will be available for PS5 players who own the game.
When will the Ghost of Yotei New Game Plus feature be available?
On November 24, a free Ghost of Yotei update will introduce New Game Plus to the game. This allows players who have gone through the campaign to run through it again with everything they unlocked in the previous playthrough. In this case, that means armors, abilities, and weapons obtained in a previous run will be available right from the jump in New Game Plus.
Ghost of Yotei’s New Game Plus unlocks after players complete the main story. Additionally, this will add new, harder difficulty options and two new trophies. Also, a new currency called Ghost Flowers will be introduced, and can be used at a new vendor that holds 30 new cosmetic items and 10 new charms. Players will also have the ability to earn an additional tier of upgrades for existing armor sets and weapons.
The upcoming Ghost of Yotei update will also add the ability to replay content in the post-game after completing the story. A new stats display and accessibility options like directional button remapping are also being added.
Besides New Game Plus, the Ghost of Yotei update’s other exciting additions include new Photo Mode features like shutter speed, a composition grid, and new filters.
When Ghost of Yotei released last month, it was generally praised by critics. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it received an 86 across 133 critic reviews.
