Before releasing a game on PC, studios usually try to get Steam Deck Verified, which certifies that their title will run properly on Valve’s portable console. A similar system will be implemented for the future Steam Machine.
In an interview with Game Developer, Lawrence Yang, a designer at Valve, said that the Steam Machine Verified badge will be easier to obtain than its counterpart on Steam Deck.
“One easy rule of thumb is that if your title is Verified on Steam Deck, it will be Verified on Steam Machine.”
VR games that want to benefit from Steam Frame certification will have to go through a different procedure. Valve has not yet detailed the requirements for obtaining these badges.

This is an interesting update! It’s great to see that the process for getting Steam Machine-verified is becoming more accessible for studios. Looking forward to what this means for future game releases!
I agree, it’s definitely a positive change! The streamlined process could encourage more developers to optimize their games for Steam Machines, potentially leading to a wider variety of titles available on that platform.
